SAP INTEGRATION

SAP + Connect RX.
Keep the product in context.

Connect SAP business references with serialized pharmaceutical records.

01 / THE WORKFLOW

The pharmaceutical connection.

A pharmaceutical distributor uses SAP for commercial orders and delivery context. The traceability flow must relate those references to the unit-level product records available in Connect RX. An ERP delivery number helps locate the business transaction; the product identifier and serial locate the medicine.

THE WORK, MADE VISIBLE

Follow the references through the workflow.

02 / THE WORKFLOW

An operating example.

Separate the commercial order from the product event. Agree which SAP reference identifies the shipment, which source provides serialized units and how the receiving or shipping location is represented. Then follow a sample unit from its business reference to the associated partner exchange.

03 / THE WORKFLOW

Agree on the information boundary.

Identify the system of record for the product, lot, serialized unit and location. Define which business reference ties the ERP or service record to the traceability task. The interface should preserve those relationships and make an unknown reference a specific issue to resolve.

04 / THE WORKFLOW

Fit the interface to the deployed environment.

SAP documents outbound purchase-order messaging and other application interfaces. Select the interface for the actual SAP product, edition and release; an S/4HANA Cloud deployment and an existing ERP installation may require different connection designs. The Connect RX implementation also agrees the event payload, partner specification and expected business response. Use a normal movement and an exception to validate the complete handoff.
